Motihari, Aug. 6: Miffed over the confusion on the location of central varsity in Bihar, LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan raised the issue during the Question Hour in Rajya Sabha on Friday.
LJP state vice-president Salauddin Khan told The Telegraph over the phone that the MP demanded the varsity be opened in Champaran.
“If the university is to be established in Bihar in the name of Mahatma Gandhi, then why should it be set up anywhere else and not Champaran?” Khan quoted Paswan as asking Sibal.
Paswan charged chief minister Nitish Kumar of playing dual politics on the issue, pending since November 2008. Khan said if Nitish is serious about the issue, he should arrange for an alternate site where the university can be set up. He added that if the university is set up in Patna, LJP would launch an agitation.
“The national (LJP) president had said the people of Champaran will get their dues (varsity) either today or tomorrow,” Khan told The Telegraph.
