Patna: The Class XII exam that started on Monday and the Class X exam for additional papers were trouble-free in the state capital.
A total of 93,376 candidates appeared in the Class XII English paper at the 299 centres of the Patna region (covering schools of both Bihar and Jharkhand) while 1.8 lakh students appeared in Class X exam at 318 centres, according to a press note issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) headquarters.
The Class XII exams end on April 12, and the Class X exams end on April 4.
"No student was expelled at our centre who appeared in class XII exam. The exam went without any trouble," said Ipshita Sharan, a senior teacher at St Michael's High School.
Abha Choudhary, a teacher of Notre Dame Academy, said: "Normally, CBSE examinations don't see mass cheating. Those who were found asking questions were reprimanded."
Class XII students such as Akanksha Singh and Disha, who took the exam in Patna, said the paper was easy.
The CBSE Class X board exam has been reintroduced this year after a gap of seven years. The minimum pass marks have also been relaxed.
