CBI team questions Rupam

Purnea, March 2: A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team today interrogated Rupam Pathak, the prime accused in the murder of BJP legislator Rajkishore Keshari, at Purnea central jail to ascertain the motive behind the crime.

Led by CBI superintendent of police R.S. Chaudhury, the team had quizzed Rupam’s mother, Kumud, yesterday. It will also interrogate journalist Navlesh Pathak, another accused in the case, lodged at Purnea central jail.

The CBI team had interrogated Kumud at Khajanchi Haat police station, after Chaudhury arrived in Purnea yesterday.

Kumud said she was satisfied with the CBI investigation. She told The Telegraph: “I have complete faith in the investigating agency.”

A five-member CBI team, had reached Purnea on February 26.
