Patna, July 21: Those of you who wish to hear Bajirao Singham roar in style this weekend, fasten your seatbelts. The Ajay Devgn-starrer, a remake of the 2010 Tamil blockbuster Singam, will release at the city’s maiden multiplex Cinépolis at P&M Mall.

Movie buffs can catch up to 22 shows of different films at the multiplex inaugurated today. It has four screens and a total seating capacity of 1,022. Audience can view the 3D magic of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 here with Transformers 3, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Delhi Belly.

Plush seats, extra leg-space and Dolby digital sound are the other features of the multi-screen cinema complex.

Patliputra resident Sandeep Kumar, a movie buff, said: “This is the best thing to have happened to Patna. Earlier, Mona was the only proper cinema in town. Now, we have this multiplex. It will be a good place to hang out with college friends.”

The management of the multiplex is determined to fulfil the expectations of the citizens.

“The viewers can experience a world of difference. We will provide state-of-the-art facilities with international standards. We will provide a safe environment for family entertainment. Our multiplex has 3D facility, which is a innovation in Patna. It will be an exciting movie-watching experience,” Milan Saini, the managing director of Cinépolis India, said.

Ashish Shukla, head of exhibition, Cinépolis India, said: “The multiplex culture would change the lifestyle of people in Patna. Earlier people had to watch films according to the time of the cinema. Now, they can catch their favourite blockbuster at their convenience.”

The first show at the multiplex would start at 9am and the last one at 10.45pm. Viewers would not have to stand in long queues to book their seats either. They can simply log on to www.cinepolis.in to buy tickets. They can get the schedule of movies being screened by sending a text message to 53030.

The audience would not have to be satisfied with only popcorn at the multiplex as they watch their favourite stars on screen. They can get pizzas from Dominos and the steaming cuppa from Café Coffee Day that would soon open outlets at the mall. There would also be a kiosk of Mexican delicacies, as a nod to the Latino origins of Cinépolis.

If you think that the style and comfort would be too dear on your pockets, think again! Tickets would be priced between Rs 100 and Rs 180. Viewers don’t think that’s too much at all.

“At Mona, we pay around Rs 160 for tickets. Here, the prices are lower,” said Sandeep.

Bollywood director Prakash Jha, who holds shares in the multiplex and is also the managing director of the mall, was not present at the inauguration but sent the message that the mall was designed to be the finest retail and entertainment destination in the city.
