Patna, July 18: CPM politburo member S. Ramchandra Pillai, along with state secretary Vijaykant Thakur, today advocated for a stronger Lokpal, with the Prime Minister and MPs under its purview.

“Successive governments at the Centre, except the present dispensation, since 1989 introduced the Lokpal bill keeping the post of PM under the ombudsman’s purview,” Pillai said. He also demanded a constitution of National Judicial Commission to take care of corruption in the judiciary, “on which the centre lacked willpower”.
