| Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha garlands a bust of Loknayak Jaya Prakash Narayan at the Patna airport on Tuesday. With the unveiling of the bust, the airport finally got something concrete that can symbolise the legendary leader after whom the airport was named way back in 1996. Till date, the only signature of JP that the airport had was his name prefixed to it. After unveiling the bust, Sinha, who is also the chairman of the Patna Airport Advisory Board, thanked the Centre, the state government and the Airports Authority of India for their effort to get the statue installed at the airport. He said: “JP had revolutionised ways to eradicate fear, hunger and corruption from society.” Addressing the programme, MLA Poonam Devi expressed happiness on the bust of JP being inaugurated on his 110th birth anniversary. Patna airport director Arvind Dubey pledged to work towards maintaining the airport’s growth trajectory. Text by Piyush Kumar Tripathi, picture by Jai Prakash |
