British Council will organise a national school drama festival on the cultural relations between India and the UK.
Schools have been asked to submit their scripts for the festival — India-UK: A Modern Fairytale — by July 29. The topic selected for the festival is “If India and the UK revisited their past, how would they rewrite it today?”
The institutions can visit http://www.britishcouncil.org/india-arts-school-drama-festival.htm to know more about the festival.
Forty-five schools from across India will be shortlisted for the semi-final performances in New Delhi between September 24 and 29. Seven of the schools would go on to perform at the national finals in Calcutta on December 2.
Prizes would be given out for the best actor (male), best actor (female) and best teacher co-ordinator. They would also be awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to the UK for attending a theatre course in 2013.
