Nikhil bail

Patna: The high court on Monday reserved its order on the bail petition of automobile businessman Nikhil Priyardarshi, who is accused of sexually exploting a former Congress minister's daughter.

He was arrested from Uttarakhand around two weeks ago.

Painting

Patna: National Institute of Open Schooling, along with National Book Trust, organised a painting competition for differently abled students at the planetarium in the city on Monday. A total of 80 students participated in the contest organised to mark the centenary year of the Champaran Satyagraha.

Liquor cuffs

Patna: Five people were arrested on Monday in a special drive conducted by the excise department in Purnea district. All five people were caught under the influence of liquor - verified with a breathalyser test. Excise inspector Shankar Kumar Singh led the raid team.

Court orders affidavit

Patna: The high court on Monday directed the central and state governments to file affidavit within four weeks in a case related to non-submission of certificates for various schemes amounting to Rs 31,284 crore. The division bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice Sudhir Singh passed the order on a PIL filed by Nagrik Adhikar Manch.

Digital pay

Patna: Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh on Monday stated that the use of digital mode of transactions could help in a big way in taming the black money menace in the country. He was speaking at Digi Dhan Mela organised in Motihari on Monday.

Leader scion

Patna: Prakash Ambedkar, the grandson of Late Bhim Rao Ambedkar, will speak in a protest programme being organised by Bihar Rajya Khet Mazdoor Sangh here on March 30.

Patna: C.P. Chandrasekhar, the dean of School of Social Sciences of JNU, on Monday inaugurated a five-day orientation programme by AN Sinha Institute of Social Studies. Indian Council of Social Science Research sponsored the programme.
