Dealer murder

Patna: Police on Monday claimed to solve the murder of Punpun property dealer Jitendra Singh with the arrest of Sonu Kumar and Kundan Kumar from Punpun. The assailants had entered Singh’s house on August 17 to steal but killed the property dealer when he tried to resist.

Patna: Governor Ram Nath Kovind on Monday formed two search committees to select the vice-chancellors of Veer Kunwar Singh University and JP University.

Liquor raid

Patna: The Bihar Special Task Force seized 391 cartons of foreign liquor and arrested two persons on Monday following a raid on a godown in the Zakariapur Transport Nagar locality. 

Explosion

Poonch (PTI): Sheeraj Ahmed, a resident of Bihar, was injured on Monday in an explosion in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. Police said Ahmed had gone to an under-construction civil secretariat in the town where he picked up some explosive devices that went off.

Patna: JDU leaders Sharad Yadav, RCP Singh and Bashishtha Narayan Singh filed the nomination papers of Nitish Kumar for the post of the party’s national president in New Delhi on Monday.
