Special drive for vehicles
Muzaffarpur, Sept. 2: Police along with the transport department has launched a drive to check vehicles for related documents in order to ensure complete adherence to rules. Senior superintendednt of police Ranjit Kumar Mishra on Wednesday said so far 11,000 vehicle owners had been fined for violating traffic rules.

Patna: Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna (CIMP) and Sinha and Company, a policy management, technology and development consultants in Irvine, California would organise a two-day conference on policy, planning and development on February 17 and 18, 2016 on its Mithapur campus.
Rights order
Patna: State human rights commission (HRC) on Wednesday directed the director-in-chief, health services, Bihar, to appear before it in connection with the death of a haemophilia patient in Patna Medical College and Hospital in 2013.
Insurance
Patna: Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh issued a directive, which extends the last date of crop insurance from July 31 to September 15. The directive has been issued in wake of deficient or delayed rainfall in many states.
Sentence
Patna: Special judge Devraj Tripathi on Wednesday sentenced Mohammad Suhail, a resident of Chunauti Kuan to 15 years rigorous imprisonment and four others to five months imprisonment in connection with violation of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substan ces Act. In another judgment special Central Bureau of Investigation judge Arunendra Singh on Wednesday sentenced Ratnesh Pathak - a Canteen boy of Bank of India, Dumraon - to two years rigorous imprisonment in connection with a bribery.

Inmate shift
Motihari: About two-dozen notorious criminals lodged in Motihari Central jail would be shifted to other jails of the state in wake of the upcoming assembly elections.
Arrest
Patna: Patna Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested three persons, identified as Saurabh Kumar, Sumit Kumar and Chhote Paswan, from Patna Junction on Wednesday on theft charges.
Poll review
Patna: Bihar chief electoral officer Ajay V. Naik reviewed poll preparations in 12 districts of the state through video conferencing on Wednesday. The district returning officers and the superintendents of police were directed to complete the process of deletion or induction of names of voters at the earliest.
