Petition against Aamir

Muzaffarpur: Sudhir Kumar Ojha, a lawyer, lodged a complaint against actor Aamir Khan in the chief judicial magistrate's court accusing him of sedition, treason and disturbing communal harmony in the country.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sushma Trivedi accepted the complaint and set December 1 as the next date of hearing in the case.

Lecture

Patna: Professor James Manor, a well-known expert on Indian politics, will deliver a lecture on 'India's States: The Struggle to Govern' on November 30. The lecture is being organised by the Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) as curtain raiser to its silver jubilee celebrations next year.

CM greetings

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday greeted people on the occasion of Kartk Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti. In his message, Kumar said Guru Nanak was an apostle of peace, love, devotion and communal harmony and his teachings are relevant even today.

Review

Patna: Director-general of police P.K. Thakur on Wednesday gave a dressing down to the police officers posted in Patna for their failure to contain crime. The state police chief summoned Patna SSP, City SPs and the station house officers to review the law and order situation in the capital.

Fake drugs

Patna: Suspected fake drugs worth over Rs 4 lakh were recovered from four shops on Govind Mitra Road on in the capital on Wednesday.

Arms haul

Munger: Police busted nine mini gun factories and seized a haul of finished and unfinished weapons on Wednesday.

Son killed

Samastipur: One Ram Sevak Sahni killed his 25-year-old son allegedly for Rs 500.

3 dead in mishaps

Chhapra: Shashi Kumar, a resident of Harihas village in Siwan district, died while one Manoj Kumar from the same village sustained injuries after they fell from the Amprapali Express near Ekma police station 
on Wednesday.

In another incident, Bhagirathi Devi of Karn Kudaria village, was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle. 

Expedition

Munger: Munger Municipal Corporation mayor Kumkum Devi welcomed eight women of the 19-member Access Water Ganga Expedition-2015 team at Babua Ganga ghat in the district headquarters on Wednesday. 

Inauguration

Chhapra: The general secretary of Chhapra Bar Association, Ravi Ranjan Singh, said Patna High Court acting Chief Justice I.A. Ansari would unveil a statue of first President Rajendra Prasad, on December 3.
