A middle-aged woman allegedly bobbitised one Naudip Yadav to foil a rape attempt at Lahoria village in Banka district late on Wednesday night. The youth has been admitted to a government hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.

Rajaun police station house officer (SHO) Parikshit Paswan said a case had been lodged against Yadav on the basis of the woman’s statement. Sources said the accused barged into the woman’s house around midnight and attempted to rape her.

The SHO said a blood-stained knife had been seized from her house.
