Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Monday slammed Madhepura MP Pappu Yadav, describing him as an "agent of the BJP", and also took a jibe at union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for his allegation that a two-year-old baby died in Jehanabad because of the bandh.
Since Monday morning, the RJD cadres were matched in bandh enforcing by supporters of Pappu's Jan Adhikar Party Loktantrik, which went on the rampage across Patna and the districts - smashing windscreens and windows of buses and cars, intimidating commuters and passers-by and triggering anarchy on the roads.
"The party of Pappu Yadavji is acting like an agent of the BJP by forcefully marking their attendance in the Bharat Bandh. He has acted as a vote katuwa (vote splitter) for the BJP in the last election and in the same way he tried to sabotage this big issue and agitation against the central government. He tried to spoil the unity of the Opposition and tried to derail the issue by carrying out vandalism in the city which I strongly condemn," Tejashwi told the media at the Income Tax roundabout.
"He is the leader who does negative politics with the funds provided by the BJP," the RJD leader added.
Tejashwi did not spare union minister Prasad on his remarks that two-year-old Gauri of Jehanabad died because the "ambulance was stuck" in the bandh.
"You have the government in Bihar and you must ask the DM and SDO (of Jehanabad) who are saying that the child died because of reasons other than the Bharat Bandh," Tejashwi posted on his Twitter handle.
Tejashwi asked Prasad to explain why he did not comment on the death of two children due to alleged starvation in Buxar.
In a series of tweets, Tejashwi, who referred to Prasad as "someone who has never won an election in his life", said: "Five days back, two children died due to starvation. Will you ask the shameless Bihar government to take the responsibility of the death?"
Pappu countered Tejashwi saying he should first take care of his own family.
