Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday announced that the state government had notified 115 acres in Bihta to set up an apparel and textile park.Bihta is around 40km southwest of Patna. He said under its new industrial promotion policy, the state government was giving top priority to textile, leather, information technology and food processing sectors to attract investments.

Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday announced that the state government had notified 115 acres in Bihta to set up an apparel and textile park.Bihta is around 40km southwest of Patna. He said under its new industrial promotion policy, the state government was giving top priority to textile, leather, information technology and food processing sectors to attract investments.
Modi aired his views while inaugurating (in picture by Nagendra Kumar Singh) a fair of readymade garments organised by Bihar Garment Association at Gyan Bhavan in Patna.Sushil announced that the government would give cent per cent waiver on registration and land conversion charges for such industries and government would also provide 10 per cent subsidy on interest payable on bank loans.He added that investors would get repayment of total amount of state GST paid and half the amount paid towards payment of EPF and ESI payment.
Moreover, the government would give Rs 20,000 grant per employee to train employees.He urged manufacturers of readymade garments to invest in Bihar and said Patna too had the potential of being developed as a hub of readymade garment-manufacturing on the pattern of Mumbai, Bangalore and Tirupur.
