Mob attack

Saharsa, Sept. 27: A mob assaulted sub-inspector Jitendra Pandey today after he allegedly allowed a truck driver to escape from the spot where 12-year-old boy Mohammad Aftab was crushed to death. Pandey, posted at Saharsa sadar police station, allegedly threatened the residents, leading to the attack.

Puja trains

Patna: The East Central Railway will operate Puja Special train (05717/05718) between Katihar and Jalandhar from Thursday to October 26. It will be a weekly train and leave from Katihar every Thursday and from Jalandhar (Punjab) every Saturday.

Bihar model

Patna: JDU spokesperson Om Prakash Singh Setu on Wednesday said Bihar has set an example for women's empowerment under chief minister Nitish Kumar's leadership.

ED summons

New Delhi (PTI): The Enforcement Directorate has summoned former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and his mother Rabri Devi in connection with its probe into the railway-hotels-allotment case. Tejashwi has been summoned on October 10 and Rabri on October 11.

Rail stop

Patna: The East Central Railway will introduce temporary stop for the Calcutta-Jammu Tawi Express from September 27 to October 3 for two minutes at Choubey station between Hazaribagh Road and Kodarma railway stations.

Arrest

Patna: Special task force personnel arrested gangsters Irshad and Hasmuddin from Gopalganj's Barauli area on Wednesday, and seized a carbine and four cartridges from them.

Sexual assault

Saharsa: A middle-aged woman has accused a priest, Hari Mohan Baba, of sexually assaulting her in his ashram at Raipur Chowk in Saharsa district. The police have registered a case on the woman's statement and sent her for medical examination. The priest has denied the allegations.

Warrants

Patna: A special CBI court in Patna on Monday issued production warrants against 17 accused in the illegal transfer of government funds to the account of a Bhagalpur based non-government organization.
