Man shot dead

Patna, Aug. 8: A lab technician at Patna Medical College and Hospital, Jitendar Kumar, was shot dead at Bhoothnath Road under Adamkuan police station around 6.30pm today.

The victim was rushed to Nalanda Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Jitendar was on his motorcycle when the assailants shot him from close range. Police suspect personal enmity as the reason behind the attack.

Shops gutted

Munger: Three makeshift shops, selling eatables on the kanwariya path near Kumarsar village under Sangrampur police station in the district, were gutted in a fire on Saturday.

Rs 3-lakh loot

Katihar (PTI): Four persons on a motorcycle looted Rs 3 lakh, meant for old-age pension disbursal, from a gram sevak when he was on his way to the panchayat bhavan after withdrawing the money from a bank.

Maoist attack

Banka (PTI): A group of armed Maoists attacked a construction site of a canal in Banka district around 2am on Saturday. The rebels assaulted the workers and torched two excavator machines and a tractor.

Agro camps

Patna: Small Farmer Agribusiness Consortium organised awareness camps in Patna, Katihar, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Nalanda, Gaya, Nawada and Bhagalpur districts on Saturday to facilitate establishment of businesses related to the agriculture sector.
