PMC hearing

 Patna: The high court bench of Justice Jyoti Saran on Tuesday, hearing a petition challenging showcause notices issued to councillors by the urban development department for dissolving the civic body, has ordered the status quo to be maintained till further orders.

MLA letter

Patna: Rebel JDU MLA Ravindra Rai has written a letter to chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, urging him to address the alleged nexus of drug inspectors and licencing authorities. Rai issued a copy of the letter on Tuesday.

BJP jab

Patna: The BJP on Tuesday took exception to former chief minister Nitish Kumar accusing the party of hijacking anniversary functions of prominent persons in the country.

Patna: Members of National Alliance of People's Movement took out a protest march on Tuesday in protest against the land acquisition ordinance.

Incinerator

 Patna: The high court division bench of Justice V.N. Sinha and Justice R.K. Mishra, hearing a contempt petition on Tuesday, directed the chief secretary and principal secretary, urban development department, to install incinerators within two months under Patna Municipal Corporation's jurisdiction for the disposal of animal carcasses.

 Patna: The state branch of Indian Red Cross Society organised a free dental check-up camp at north Gandhi Maidan.
