Three mishaps kill six
Khagaria, Jan. 12 (PTI): Six persons were killed in three road accidents in different places of Khagaria district today, the police said. Three persons, including a woman, were killed, as a speeding truck rammed into a stationary autorickshaw on NH-31 under Mansi police station, superintendent of police Sunil Kumar Singh said. The victims were identified as Bisho Devi (50), Nago Ram (48) and Vinay Kumar Ranjan (35) - all occupants of the autorickshaw.
In another incident, two persons, including a doctor Vivekanand (52), hailing from Bhagalpur, died after a truck rammed into a four-wheeler on NH-31, the SP said. In yet another mishap, a biker Laxmi Singh (42) was fatally knocked down by an unidentified vehicle on NH-107, he said.

Patna: Union home minister Rajnath Singh will preside over the standing committee meeting of eastern zonal council slated to be held in Patna on January 16.
Accusation
Patna: Bihar Engineering Services Association members on Monday claimed that engineers posted in various departments in the districts were being used in law-and-order-related works hampering development.
Train on cards
Buxar: Divisional railway manager, Danapur division, N.K. Gupta on Monday visited Buxar railway station and took stock of the station. Sources said the railways was willing to run a passenger train from Buxar to Varanasi soon.
Law and order
Patna: Director-general of police P.K. Thakur reviewed law and order situation in the state through a video-conference on Monday. He inquired about cases pending for investigation and causes of delay in execution of arrest warrants.
