Aadhar drive rolls out

Patna: Nine private agencies started registering people for Unique Identification Card, commonly known as Aadhar card, from Friday, said state chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh.

He said the below poverty line families would be given Rs 100 as consolation for registering for the UID cards.

PDS notice

 Patna: Food and consumer protection minister Shyam Rajak on Friday announced 50 per cent reservation in allotment of public distribution system (PDS) outlets in the state.

Gang-rape

Saharsa: A 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by four men on Thursday night at Karaua village in Saharsa district's Simri-Bakhtiarpur sub-division. The victim has identified two of her attackers, who she claimed barged into her home while she was cooking. The woman was sent for a medical examination and the report is awaited.

Penalty

 Patna: Senior superintendent of police Jitendra Rana said Rs 68.43 lakh was realised as fine from over 20,000 motorcyclists for violating traffic rules in 2014.

Seizure

Kishanganj: Two men were arrested and over 30 cattle seized during a raid at Islampur adjacent to the India-Bangladesh border on Friday.

Protest

Chhapra: Teaching and non-teaching employees of Devraha Baba Sridhar Das Degree College Kadna, along with social workers of the area, on Friday took out a protest rally and staged a dharna at Rajendra Chowk demanding the arrest of the college ex-principal Arjun Rai for allegedly usurping Rs 7 crore.esel would not adversely affect the common man but would also lead to price rise. He said that Congress government had increased the price of petrol and diesel following the increase in crude oil in international market but had not resorted to imposing excise duty on every litre of petrol and diesel.-Â
