Ganga silt survey

Patna: Experts carried out an aerial survey on the Ganga on Monday to assess siltation. Recommendations by the team, roped in by the Bihar government, would be submitted to the state government. The team consisted of retired Supreme Court Judge V. Gopala Gowda and Magsaysay award winner and waterman Rajendra Singh among others.

IndiGo offer

Patna: Early birds can buy special IndiGo flight tickets from June 12 to 14 on the Patna-Bengaluru (Rs 3,099), Patna-Kolkata (Rs 1,299), Patna-Delhi (Rs 2,399) and Patna-Ranchi (Rs 1,599) sector.

Rain review

Patna: Urban development minister Maheshwar Hazari warned stern action against officials concerned in case of waterlogging this monsoon after a review meeting on Monday.

Donation

Patna: Bank of India officials met Governor Ram Nath Kovind and donated Rs 12.5 lakh for the Bihar branch of Indian Red Cross. The governor is the ex-officio chairman of the state branch.

Parliament

Patna: Governor Ramnath Kovind expressed hope that the youth would take responsibility in nation building. He was speaking as chief guest on the concluding day of the Youth Parliament.

Tribute

Patna: Bankers mourned the death of Punjab National Bank's Patna Zone chief manager Anand Dwivedi, 50, who died at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi. He is also the brother-in-law of BJP MP Ashwani Choubey.
