Drug jab

Patna: Senior BJP leader Prem Kumar, the Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, took a dig at chief minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday over the recent seizure of expired medicines worth Rs 10 crore. He alleged that people were dying in Bihar after having medicine that had expired but the government was doing nothing to nab the culprits.

GST help

Patna: Marg Compusoft Pvt Ltd, a provider of integrated business accounting software, has decided to set up 5,000 GST help desks across the country, including Bihar, to educate business houses about the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Uma cops hurt

• Katihar (PTI): Six policemen on their way to escort Union water resources minister Uma Bharati were injured when their vehicle rammed into a tractor and overturned at Kajra Chowk in the district on Sunday, police said.

The mishap took place in the Mansadi police station area when 12 cops were on way to escort Bharati from Manihari-Sahebganj Ganga ghat to the Katihar railway station. The cops were released after first aid at the sadar hospital.

Paddy jab

• Patna: BJP spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan on Sunday claimed the Grand Alliance government was anti-farmer, adding that Bihar could procure just 14 lakh tonnes of paddy this year against the target of 30 lakh tonnes. This has forced the farmers to opt for distress sales, he said.

Train derails

• Saharsa: Two bogies of the Saharsa-Patna Rajya Rani Express derailed at the Saharsa railway station on Sunday because of a "technical problem", said station superintendent Navinchadra Yadav. No casualty was reported.

Kovind pat

• Patna: Governor Ram Nath Kovind during a convention on Sunday heaped praise on the Bihar Pradeshik Marwari Sammelan for undertaking social work.
