Boat capsize

Patna: A country boat carrying 11 persons capsized in the river Koshi in Khagaria district on Wednesday, and four persons are feared to have drowned. Police said two bodies have been fished out and efforts are on to find the remaining missing persons.

Acid attack

Patna: Two women - Shabana and Sultana - received severe burn injuries when two other women poured acid on them at their house located on station road in Siwan town on Wednesday. The victims were admitted to the local sadar hospital where their condition is stated to be critical. The two offenders identified as Shahida and Farida have been arrested by the police.

Murder

Patna: A railway contractor Vibhash Kumar Singh was killed by a group of unidentified armed criminals in Katihar on Tuesday night. Police said that business rivalry may have been the reason behind the murder.

Cricket feud

Patna: Vibhash Kumar, an 18-year-old youth, was beaten to death in Aurangabad on Wednesday following a dispute over a cricket match. Police said Vibhash was a resident of Chandrabigha village.

Paddy cheer

Patna: Cooperative minister Alok Mehta on Wednesday said in the Assembly his department had been procuring paddy through 7,500 procurement centres spread across 8,400 panchayats.

Sushil tweet

Patna: BJP leader Sushil Modi in a tweet asked the state government to explain what the state had gained by taking the services of Prashant Kishor, who was made adviser to the chief minister "by spending people's money".

Kidnap case

Patna: Shatrughan Kumar, the younger brother of land broker and garage mechanic Lakshman Prasad, has lodged a kidnapping case at Patliputra police station. Criminals allegedly kidnapped Prasad from Indrapuri area under Patliputra police station on March 10.

Liquor seizure

Patna: Gandhi Maidan police on Wednesday recovered 29 cartons of Indian Made Foreign liquor from an open field and a closed room. Following a tip-off, Gandhi Maidan police raided a spot on Bhattacharya Road and seized the liquor kept inside an abandoned room and in a pit covered with sand in an open field.
