Road mishap Inquiry dare Injury

Road mishap

Munger, June 18: A government school teacher and a small-time trader were run over by a SUV, whose driver was trying to avoid a vehicle-checking drive in Jamui this afternoon. Four police officers were injured in the accident. Jhajha police station house officer Vivek Bharati said the teacher and trader died on the spot.

Inquiry dare

Patna: Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular spokesperson Danish Rizwan on Saturday dared deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav to set up an inquiry over the alleged link between junior Union minister Giriraj Singh and kingpin of the topper scam Bachcha Rai after their photo was circulated in media.

Injury

Nawada: At least four persons suffered serious injuries on Saturday when bombs they were making suddenly went off at Partapur village.

Bitumen scam

Patna, June 18: Special CBI judge Sarvajeet today sentenced Krishna Kumar Kedia, proprietor of M/s Cosmo Trans Company in Calcutta to three years' imprisonment in the bitumen scam.

In another incident, additional district and sessions judge Mohammad Gulam Gous on Saturday sentenced Raj Kumar (24), resident of Sharda Colony to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment in connection with a dowry and murder case.

Forgery

Patna: Special vigilance judge R.K. Singh on Saturday sentenced Shiv Kumar Raut from Nepal to two years' rigorous imprisonment for forging an educational certificate from the Bihar Intermediate Council.

Rajak attack

Patna: JDU national general secretary Shyam Rajak on Saturday attacked the Centre for failing to check the rising prices of daily essentials.
