Patna: The BJP is going to launch a major campaign in Bihar to mark the four years of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre.

The decision was taken in a meeting of party office-bearers here on Sunday, which was chaired by party state unit president Nityanand Rai. The drive would be carried out in two phases.

The first phase would commence on May 26, the day the Narendra Modi government was formed in 2014, and would continue till June 11. The second phase would commence on June 23, the death anniversary of late Syamaprosad Mookerjea, the founder of erstwhile Bharatiya Jana Sangh, and conclude on July 6, his birth anniversary.

"Unlike our past efforts when our party workers used to generate awareness about the various welfare schemes meant for the poor, our new drive would also be used to find out whether the benefits of the schemes are being delivered to the target group or not and then efforts would be made to fill the gaps if there are any," a BJP office-bearer said.

The Sunday's meeting also decided to link maximum number of BJP workers with NaMo App, a mobile application using which workers can directly reach out to the Prime Minister and the vice-versa.

"A special drive would be launched to connect party workers right up to the booth level with the app," state unit general secretary Rajendra Singh said. The BJP has around 80 lakh active members in Bihar and the party is aiming to link all the workers who have smartphones with the app.

The office-bearers also discussed the probable names who would be made in-charge of the Lok Sabha constituencies during the next elections.
