Award for shooter
Patna: The state government would give Rs 11 lakh as award money to shooter Shreyasi Singh.
Art, culture and youth affairs minister Vinay Bihari said the formal announcement in this regard would be made on August 29 in a function. Shreyasi is in Italy now and would not be able to attend the function.
Tension
Saharsa: Tension prevailed at Gorgama village on Sunday over the abduction of a girl two days back. The accused, Mohammad Monazir, was arrested on Saturday. The girl was also recovered. Police said some people are trying to give communal colour to the case and armed policemen have been deputed in the village.
Control room
Munger: The state government has decided to set up a control room in the district headquarters. The control room would have sufficient armed policemen with tear-gas shells and wireless sets.
Itinerary
Gaya: Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Sunday reached Mahakar village and would stay here till Tuesday. During his stay he would conduct meeting with officials of district administration to review development projects and preparations for Haj flight operations from Gaya airport and the Pitripaksh Mela.
Attack
Patna: At least six students belonging to scheduled castes suffered serious injuries when some people pelted them with stones and opened fire at their hostel in Nalanda district on Sunday. A dispute over removal of encroachment in front of the hostel is said to be the reason behind the attack.
Training
Munger: Nehru Yuva Kendra has organised a three-month training programme for 15 rural women in Singhiya village where they would learn the art of making fancy dresses.
