Building order to civic body
Patna: The high court on Tuesday directed Patna municipal commissioner to file an affidavit giving specific dates within which the pending cases of building violations would be disposed off.
On November 13, the court had directed the commissioner to file a reply stating by when the cases would be disposed off. The court on Tuesday was not satisfied with the reply filed by the Patna Municipal Corporation and ordered it to file a fresh affidavit. In total 447 vigilance cases have been initiated by the civic body under violation of building bylaws. Of the 447 cases, 120 have already been disposed off, while orders have been reserved for other 100 cases. In the remaining 227 cases, the civic body is yet to act.
Lande takes charge as SP
Patna: Shivdeep Lande, the 2006 batch IPS officer, on Tuesday took charge as the Patna City superintendent of police for the second time. In 2011, he had served in the same post for around nine months. Lande was the ADC to the governor since last year.

Chhapra: The future of 55 students of government BEd colleges hangs in balance as the JP University has refused to register them. The students of 2014-15 session (contract teachers) had taken admission in Saran, Siwan and Madhubani colleges after the education department, through its letter, had allowed it. The students might lose a year.

Patna: Prabhat Kumar, medical director, Heart Hospital, on the eve of World Obesity Day said obese people are more likely to develop diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, paralysis and heart attack.
Counselling
Patna: Patliputra Sahodaya School Complex, a group of CBSE schools, will start a month-long career counselling programme for students of classes XI and XII from Wednesday. Students will have to text “sahodaya” with a space along with their names, classes and subjects at 9229224424 to get an appointment for the counselling.

Patna: A single bench on Tuesday directed Bihar Public Service Commission to come out with fresh result of Bihar Assistant Prosecution Officer, 2011, examination as the result declared in June this year was challenged by high court advocate Sumit Kumar Jha.

Patna: The government on Tuesday decided to initiate departmental proceedings against IPS officer Masoor Ahmad under relevant sections of All India Service Rules, 1969, for his alleged misconduct of office for his personal benefits.

Patna: East Central Railway general manager Madhuresh Kumar on Tuesday congratulated its five women footballs for winning gold medal in the third South Asia Football Federation women’s championship held in Islamabad from November 11 to 21.
