Five of family die in accident
Gaya: Five members of a family were killed and 12 others injured in an accident near Khajahanpur Mor under the jurisdiction of Buniyadganj police station on Monday morning.
The accident occurred when a truck collided with a van in which the victims were returning to Baragaon village after attending a wedding at the Vishnupad Temple. One Rampati Devi died on the spot. Four others — Sundari Devi, Madhumita Devi, Kundan Kumar and Natu Paswan — succumbed to injuries at Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital.
Wife murder probe
Patna: Police have ruled out the involvement of any outsider in the alleged murder of Anjana John, resident of Shairfield Colony in Patna on Saturday night. Anjana alias Anju was allegedly killed by her husband Ranjan John, who later committed suicide. According to the autopsy report she was hit on her head with a blunt weapon.
Driver killed
Patna: An autorickshaw driver, Rahul Kumar, was killed and his body was dumped in a field near Kachhuara village under the jurisdiction of Gopalpur police station in Patna on Monday. The victim’s father Mithilesh Kumar has lodged an FIR.
Loan directive
Patna: Deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday directed co-operative bank officials to increase the agriculture loan limit from Rs 50,000 to Rs 3 lakh. He also directed the officials to ensure the distribution of credit cards to farmers in Nalanda, Patna, Ara, Bhagalpur and Gopalganj districts.

Airport facility
Patna: The extended security hold area at the terminal building of Patna airport was inaugurated on Monday. Senior officials of the Airports Authority of India present at the inauguration said the areas have been earmarked for various facilities like an executive lounge, café and spa.

Biharsharif (PTI): A suspected Naxalites was arrested on Monday from a village in Nalanda district. Acting on a tip off, police raided a house at Patanbigha village and nabbed the rebel, identified as Arvind Kumar Verma.

Buxar: Two illegal arms suppliers — Bunty Kumar and Sumit Ray — were arrested from Bazar Samiti Road under the jurisdiction of town police station on Sunday.
