Cuffs for smuggle of livestock

Patna: A former panchayat head, Murari Singh, was arrested on Monday from Bajipur village in Patna rural under the Wildlife Act for his involvement in the smuggling of livestock.

A deer was also recovered during a raid at his native village. Senior superintendent of police Manu Maharaj said he was involved in the racket for the past two years.

Promotion to 12 cops

Patna: Twelve officers of the Bihar Police Service have been promoted to Indian Police Service (IPS). Sources in the ministry of home affairs on Monday said Shafi-ul Haq, Sanjay Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Rajesh Tripathy, Ashok Kumar, Nawal Kishore Singh, Prakash Nath Mishra, Ravindra Kumar, Parvez Akhtar, Rajiv Ranjan, Umashankar Prasad and Pranav Kumar Praveen have been promoted.

Business meet

Patna: The RBI would organise a meeting of micro, small and medium scale enterprises in Chhapra on Tuesday to get feedback from entrepreneurs and to inform about the steps being taken for them.

HC order

Patna: A high court division bench sought a reply from the Nalanda district magistrate on why action was not taken against encroachers who filled water bodies and constructed a pucca house in Harnaut block’s Birju Milki village.

New office

Patna: All India Congress Committee member Shakeel Ahmed inaugurated the new office of Indian National Trade Union Congress at Sadaquat Ashram on Monday.
