School vehicles seized
Patna: In a drive against overloading in school buses, Patna district transport office seized a total of 20 vehicles including six buses from Bailey Road, Boring Road and Gandhi Maidan area on Wednesday.
The School Bus Owners’ Association in the city is mulling to go on strike within the next 48 hours.
Holiday notice
Patna: The state on Wednesday issued a notice announcing that government offices would remain closed on November 15 and not on November 14 for Muharram.
Funds FIR
Patna: Vigilance investigation bureau has lodged an FIR against the former block development officer of Sanhauli in Bhagalpur, Bikramaditya Singh, mukhiya Mohammad Mustapha, panchayat secretary Nagendra Kunwar and Arvind Kumar of Kamalpurt Srichak panchayat in Bhagalpur on November 6, in connection with misappropriation of diesel funds of Rs 11.64 lakh.
Kidnap
Patna: Ad-hoc additional district and sessions judge Ravi Shankar Sinha on Wednesday held Shayam Babu Yadav, Pramod Yadav and Naga Yadav, residents of Rambag, guilty in connection with kidnapping of members of Sty Night Musical Group on June 11, 2005.
Rent diktat
Chhapra: Deputy development commissioner Raman Kumar on Wednesday ordered to lodge certificate cases against 70 shopowners of the district board for not responding to notices to deposit rent.
Firm trouble
Chhapra: FIRs against eight non-banking companies were lodged with Chhapra town police station. The companies were working without the Reserve Bank of India’s permission and against the Sebi norms.
Housing scam
Chhapra: An FIR was lodged against former block development officer, Shobha Kumari, with Amnour police station on the order of Saran district magistrate Kundan Kumar. She is alleged to have committed irregularities in allotting Indira Awas.
