Maoists nabbed, ammo recovered
Jamui (PTI): Three Maoists, including a woman, were on Friday arrested by security forces from Harni forests in Khaira police station area of Jamui district, police said.
During a combing and search operation in the wake of Naxalite attacks in Munger and Aurangabad districts, the security forces nabbed the three Maoists hiding in the forests and seized a haul of explosives, detonators and Naxalite literature from their possession, sources said.
The arrested rebels were brought to the district headquarters for questioning, they said, adding that the identity of the Maoist trio, including the woman, was being ascertained.Suspension demand
Patna: The All India Students' Association (Aisa) has demanded immediate suspension of the Bhagalpur district magistrate and the superintendent of police in the wake of the alleged brutality of police while dealing with youths who were protesting the death of a fellow student after being hit by a police vehicle. Aisa members also staged a protest march on Friday to press for their demands.
Bank service off
Patna: Banking services in Bihar would remain paralysed on December 18 owing to the strike call given by United Forum of Bank Unions. Forum’s state convener P.D. Singh on Friday said the call has been given to protest some of the moves of the government, including privatisation of nationalised banks.
Chargesheet
Patna: The Vigilance Investigation Bureau on Friday filed a chargesheet against former block education officer of Chautham block in Khagaria district, Shambhu Nath Keshri, in connection with a bribery case. Keshri was arrested on October 7, 2013, while accepting Rs 4,000 as bribe from one Rajeev Ranjan.

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday mourned the death of Sanskrit laureate Adyacharan Jha. In his condolence message, the chief minister said the death of Jha had caused irreparable damage to the literary world, an official press note said.
Agitation call
B>lpatna: UPSC Fresh Attempt Fighter group, a team of civil services examination aspirants, would stage an agitation on December 9 to protest against the latest changes having been introduced by the commission with regard to civil services examination. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the group on Friday.

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday reviewed the preparations being made for collecting funds for the Armed Forces Flag Day. An official press note said the chief minister also donated funds.
Dacoity
Sitamarhi (pti): Armed dacoits looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh after injuring six members of a family. The dacoits barged into the house of one Mukesh Kumar at Hanuman Nagar village late on Thursday night and exploded crude bombs.
