Job lure kingpin in net

Patna: A man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly posing as the Patna superintendent of police’s bodyguard and taking money from students on the pretext of giving them jobs with the Bihar police.

A.K Singh was arrested from the Gaurichak police station area. During interrogation, Singh accepted that he had taken Rs 30,000 from one Suman Kumar for getting him a job with the police. He also agreed to have taken money from others.

IIFA award

Tampa Bay (US) (PTI): Shatrughan Sinha was on Sunday honoured the Lifetime Achievement Award at IIFA for his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema. The actor and Patna Sahib MP dedicated the award to the people of Patna. His daughter and actress Sonakshi Sinha and actor Anil Kapoor jointly presented the award to the actor.

Bodies found

Ara (PTI): The National Disaster Rescue Force (NRPF) on Sunday recovered two bodies from the Ganga in Bhojpur district two days after a boat tragedy in which five people had gone missing. A body, that of a girl, has been identified as Renu Kumari (8) while efforts were on to establish the identity of the other body, police said. The search operation was on to recover bodies of three others missing in the accident. The boat carrying around 60 people, all residents of Keotia village, had capsized in the Ganga near Salempur Ghat.

Rail facilities

Patna: Congress leader Ajay Kumar on Sunday urged the railways to provide basic facilities at Fatuha railway station. He said poor amenities at the waiting room of the railway station were causing problems for the passengers.

Boys drown

Motihari (PTI): Two boys drowned on Sunday while bathing in a pond at Bhakri Khajuri village in East Champaran district. The victims have been identified as Mohammad Ramzan (8) and Mohammad Hayaz (10).

Dehri-on-Sone (PTI): Two girls were found murdered in an agricultural field at Shivpur Baghar village in Rohtas district on Sunday.
