MLA quits Dal

Patna, April 21: Annu Shukla, the JD(U) MLA from Lalganj and wife of criminal-turned-politician Munna Shukla, resigned from the membership of the party this evening and declared to contest the general election from the Vaishali Lok Sabha seat as an Independent.

nnu said: “I have already sent my resignation to the JD(U) state president, Bashishtha Narayan Singh.” Describing Nitish as a deceitful person, Annu said he ditched Munna for political gains. The JD(U) had recently suspended three MLAs, including Shukla, for anti-party activities.

Paswan jibe

Muzaffarpur: LJP supremo Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday predicted doom for the UPA in the ongoing elections. He was in the town to take part in the nomination of party candidate from Vaishali constituency, Rama Singh.

Chhapra: Manoj Singh and Ganesh Ram filed their nomination papers as the JD(U) and BSP candidates respectively for Siwan parliamentary constituency on Monday. In Gopalganj, Jyoti and Sumita Kumar filed their nomination papers as the Congress and SP candidates respectively.

Patna: Senior politician and former JD(U) national spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari on Monday slammed BJP leader Giriraj Singh over his comment of those opposing Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan.

Vehicle slip

Kisanganj (PTI): Bihar Congress President Ashok Choudhary on Monday left a road show midway when journalists tried to embarrass him pointing out that his vehicle had a Gujarat registration number. When the journalists enquired from Choudhary about the matter, the leader tried to wriggle out saying that vehicles were manufactured not only in Gujarat, but elsewhere also.
