Energy bill relief

Patna, July 5: Bihar State Power (Holding) Company Ltd today extended the “one-time settlement” scheme by a month, till July 31, for agriculture, domestic and other consumers.

The scheme deals with full or partial waiver of delayed payment surcharge.

Graft FIR

Chhapra: An FIR was lodged against Debraha Baba Sridhar Das Degree College, Kadna, principal Arun Rai on charges of embezzlement of funds.

Mining diktat

Patna: Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has asked mines department officials to ensure the new policy on sand mining be enforced. The policy prohibits mining within 300m of highways, rail tracks and bridges, 50m of public and religious places and 5m of riverbanks.

Cave-in deaths

Buxar: Two girls, Anjani (12) and Soni (8), died after a wall collapsed on Saturday. Residents blocked Buxar-Chausa road for hours in protest.
