Girl abducted on way to camp
Ara: A girl was allegedly kidnapped from Saraiya village under the Krishnagarh police station area of Bhojpur district on Monday.
The incident occurred when Radha Kumari, a Class X student, had left for enrolling herself for Aadhaar card. On the basis of statement of her father, Mithilesh Thakur, a case of kidnapping was lodged.
In another incident in Saharsa, police on Monday found abducted cousins. The girls had been abducted on September 10 near Dharhara village under the Balwa Hat police station area while they had gone to a local market. The girls, along with one of the abductors, were picked up from Khagaria railway station. Deputy superintendent of police Upendra Kumar said the kidnapping was the fallout of prolonged love affairs. Two of the boys agreed to marry the girls in Delhi following the orchestrated abduction. The youths have been arrested also.
Teacher shot dead
Samastipur: Baleshwar Mahto, 50, a teacher of a government school, was shot dead by unidentified criminals at Rupauli village in Samastipur district early on Monday morning. Police said the deceased’s wife Susheela Devi also received bullet injury in the firing. An FIR was lodged with the Musarigharari police station of the district.

Patna: Special CBI judge B.K. Srivastava on Monday sentenced former reservation clerk of Katihar railway station, Raj Kumar, to seven years’ rigorous imprisonment in connection with misappropriation of Rs 45 lakh in 2007.
Motihari fest
Motihari: Motihari Nagar Parishad will host a two-day Motijheel Mahotsav on November 29-30. Its aim is to link people towards preservation and beautification of the lake, said chief councillor Prakash Asthana.
Gold thief
Bettiah: Jata Shankar Sah, a resident of Gobaraura village under the Lauriya police station area of the district and co-accused in a gold theft case from Delhi, was arrested with about 1kg of gold on Monday.
Drugs found
Bettiah: Police have recovered at least 6kg of ganja and a motorcycle from one Ramadhar Sah who was arrested from a village under Balthar police station area on Monday. According to the police, the arrested youth belonged to Nepal.

Patna: The state human rights commission on Monday took a suo motu cognisance of an incident in which a minor boy was tied to a tree and beaten up at Samilpur village under the jurisdiction of Raghunathpur police station in Siwan district.
Flood pledge
Patna: BJP members would collect donations for the flood-hit people of Jammu and Kashmir on September 17 — the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CPI-Patna unit organised a donation collection drive on Monday to help the victims.

Patna: Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, the RJD MP from Madhepura, on Monday donated Rs 21,000 each to two family members of Bhatti village whose children drowned in the Jivach last week in Madhubani district.
