Seized cash found in SUV
Patna: Police recovered Rs 49.85 lakh in the small hours of Monday from an SUV near the Chiraiyatand bridge under Gandhi Maidan police station.
Cops at the Gandhi Maidan police station said three persons were in the SUV when officers intercepted the vehicle during a routine drive.
The cash has been confiscated and the police have informed officials of the Income Tax department in the connection.
Four Maoists in net
Patna: Four Maoists, including self-proclaimed Tirhut sub-zonal commander Ganesh Paswan alias Gautam were arrested in Muzaffarpur on Tuesday. The police seized documents on transaction of huge amounts of money collected as levy from contractors and businessmen in the region.
Party tribute
Patna: The Rashtriya Lok Samata Party on Tuesday slammed former chief minister Nitish Kumar for joining hands with the RJD. The Jehanabad MP, Arun Kumar, said the party would launch a state-wide Shardhanjali Rath Yatra from November 8 in Patna to pay tribute to the RLSP workers.
Fest duty
Patna: Divisional commissioner Narmadeshwar Lal on Tuesday instructed district magistrate and superintendents of police in the Patna division to conduct videography of officials deputed on Chhath ghats.
Level crossing
Patna: East Central Railway on Tuesday issued a formal communiqué urging people, particularly Chhath devotees, to be careful at level crossings.
Exam centres
Patna: Two examination centres for railway recruitment will be changed after a couple of schools in Gaya refused to conduct the exams on their premises, announced Railway Recruitment Cell, East Central Railway, on Tuesday. The new centres are Spring Dales High School and New Vision English School for the exams on November 2 and November 9, respectively.

Patna: Funtasia Island in Patna would remain open for devotees to offer arghya during Chhath on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Devotees will enjoy free entry.

Patna: Bihar Provincial Bank Employees’ Association on Tuesday issued a notice announcing that its members would take part in the nationwide strike of bankers on November 12.

Patna: NIT-Patna would organise a run for unity on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.
Missing agent
Patna: Rahul Singh, a newspaper agent, went missing from Nawada under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday. Police said Singh had left his home at Bundelkhand in Nawada to oversee his work but didn’t reach his office at the town bus stand. Nawada superintendent of police Parvez Akhtar said a complaint had been lodged with Nawada Town police station. The family members fear he was kidnapped for ransom.
