Patna, Aug. 28: The police lathicharge on madarsa teachers here yesterday has given new ammunition to Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha Secular and Jan Adhikar Party national convener Pappu Yadav.

Manjhi accused Nitish of being anti-Muslim and treating them as vote bank, while Pappu called for protest march at all district headquarters on August 31 against the lathicharge.

"The way the police beat up madarsa teachers completely shows how much Nitish Kumar loves the community. Whenever people raise their voice against government injustice, he always muzzles their voice with the help of police," Manjhi said.

On Thursday, hundreds of madarsa teachers protested against the state for non-payment of dues for two years.
