Samastipur, Nov. 8: Five criminals looted Rs 11 lakh from two bank employees - Rajiv Kumar and Bashishta Kumar - in Samastipur this morning when they were on their way to deposit the cash in another branch 500m away.

The criminals shot in the air to terrorise the people at the bank before fleeing the spot, around 125km northeast of Patna, with the cash.

Highway gang in net

Six gangsters involved in robbing people on national highways passing through Rohtas and Kaimur districts were arrested from Dawath police station area in Rohtas today.

A country-made pistol, two live cartridges, two cellphones, an SUV besides Rs 35,000 were seized from their possession. Police said during interrogation, the criminals confessed to their involvement in the crimes.
