Budding artistes from the state would be able to rub shoulders with their ilk from across the world and give shapes to their creative mind on a global platform.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for the first international art show to be organised by Mundiarte to give students opportunities and let them acquire confidence and skills at an international level.
Mundiarte, the International Museum of Children’s and Youth’s Art in Avellaneda (Buenos Aires province, Argentina), would host the event in October. The theme of the show would be “The Shoe”.
A CBSE official at the board’s New Delhi office said: “We have invited applications from students aged between six and 17 years to take part in the first international exhibition of theme art. The event will be held in Argentina in October. The exhibition will be held at Mundiarte. The last day of submitting the work and applications is September 1.”
The CBSE official said the purpose was to stimulate and disseminate children’s imagination and creativity and allow exchange of ideas through art.
The official said: “The topic ‘The Shoe’ has been selected by the museum because it can be interpreted in various ways to appeal to the imagination. The shoe can be explained in numerous ways. It can be depicted in a photo, painting, sculpture, drawings, a story or translated into music and melody. One can be barefoot and another can have many fashionable pairs. The shoe could be the footprint on the earth when one walks or the sound it makes when the person wearing it jumps or runs.
The official added that the entries have to be sent to San Martin 797 (CP1870) Avellaneda province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The submission could be done through educational institutions, in groups or individually.
The CBSE has taken up the endeavour to provide its students the best in terms of opportunities.
The students would get an opportunity and acquire confidence and skill to fit at the peak of world talent.
The academics director of May Flower School, R.P. Singh, said: “Our student Sanjana had won the national prize in the junior group in the painting competition organised by CBSE last year. Our students have always been taking part in such events and we will not miss the opportunity. I will definitely ask my students to participate in the event and showcase their talent.”
Baldwin Academy principal Rajiv Ranjan Sinha said: “We will ensure that our children take part in the show. These types of events give an opportunity to the children and are a good platform for them to showcase their talents.”
Rakesh Kumar, a Class XI student said: “This is very thrilling for all of us. The event seems to be of my interest and the topic is even more interesting. I will definitely send my painting for the exhibition and try my luck. It’s a good opportunity for students like us.”
