Muzaffarpur: Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University is developing a mobile application to smoothen students' experience of collecting degree certificates and other documents.

Vice-chancellor (VC) Amrendra Narayan Yadav told The Telegraph that the university was pledged to reducing hassles faced by students while collecting degrees. "Now, the students can deposit fees into the university bank account towards degrees and certificates from anywhere."

The VC added that the university was developing an application for the purpose by September. Students will need to come to the university only once to collect the degrees. Giving details of the varsity's digitisation plans, the VC said: "We are working seriously to facilitate the unique registration number (URN) for all students." The URN will be linked to Aadhaar.

The university has set a target of providing URN to 1.5 lakh students enrolling into its graduate courses from the 2018-2019 academic session. "This will help in the filling online examination forms," said the VC.

The university has reached an agreement with the National Academic Depository to digitally preserve all records of its students.
