Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday asserted that there was no rift between his Janata Dal United (JDU) and the BJP and both were running the government in a healthy manner.

Nitish said seat-sharing for the coming Lok Sabha elections will be discussed when the time comes, hence there was no need to speculate now.

"I am sitting here with deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi. Do you see any difference or distance between us? See the behaviour of all the members in our NDA (National Democratic Alliance) government. We all are working nicely. We have no differences with the BJP," Nitish said.

"All talks about seat-sharing for the Lok Sabha polls are mere speculation. We will contest elections together. It will be settled through mutual talks," he added.

Nitish, also the JDU chief, said he would meet BJP president Amit Shah in Patna on July 12, but did not elaborate.

Nitish also scoffed at the "no entry" (into the Grand Alliance) poster put up for him by RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav at his residence.

"Such things cannot hurt me, but are laughable. You indulge in caste-based politics and such things could be liked by your supporters, but do you ever wonder what others would feel? Such irresponsible, indecent behaviour is hated by society," he said.

Nitish reiterated that amendments in the prohibition law will be moved in the Assembly during the upcoming monsoon session.
