Gopalganj, Feb. 6: Barely five hours after complaining to police that Rs 5.5 lakh was looted from a fuel refilling station, one of its salesmen confessed to have committed the crime. The pump employee, Kamlesh, has been arrested and the money has been recovered.

Hailing from Motihari in East Champaran, Kamlesh worked at Jagdeo Fuel refilling station owned by Om Prakash Singh. The former told the police Rs 5.5 lakh was looted from the pump at gunpoint around 2.30am.

Receiving the information, Gopalganj Town police station in charge Sunil Kumar Singh swung into action with a team and recovered a bag containing the cash from a field near the fuel refilling station.

Kamlesh cracked under the police pressure and admitted that he had stolen the money. He had planned to flee to his native place with the cash and had taken leave in advance.
