Patna, Sept. 15: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) board today in a meeting at SK Memorial Hall passed an unanimous decision to make an ad hoc payment to A2Z Infrastructure Private Limited.

The firm had been providing waste collection services in select parts of the city since January 2010 before going on a strike in July over non-payment of bills by the civic body.

“The board is of the view that the private firm should be paid 75 per cent of the total bills they had produced till the time vigilance enquiry in the case is completed,” said mayor Afzal Imam after the meeting.

PMC commissioner Divesh Sehara skipped today’s meeting as well and very few executive officers of the civic body were present in it.

The discussion in today’s meeting largely focused on the issue of payment to the firm. At present, a state urban development department committee is looking into the matter of payment to A2Z.
