Patna, Oct. 20: Get set for a cool chill out zone at Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park along Hardinge Road. High voltage drama, fun and food — it would offer all.

The maximum drama would be in the north. Besides an open-air theatre, a 4D or a 5D theatre would come up on the green patch on the northern side of the road. Both would have seating capacity of 300 each. A tower to gaze stars would be another star attraction that side.

For foodies and connoisseurs of culture, the southern side of the park would be the destination. It would have a food court and an open-air restaurant. Urban Haat on the lines of Delhi Haat would showcase the rich cultural and traditional base of Bihar.

Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCo) would start the construction work on the park from December, but not a single tree existing in the park would be uprooted. A sky tunnel would link the north’s flamboyance with the culture of the south.

A senior officer of BUIDCo said: “We have invited expression of interest from reputed companies keen to undertake the development of the park in public-private partnership basis. Interested parties may develop the envisaged project either as a sole agency or as a consortium.”

He said: “The park would be developed on the theme of the country’s freedom movement, envisaging the period between 1857 and 1947. Between 18 and 24 months would be required to complete the project.”

BUIDCo sources said nearly Rs 200 crore would be spent on the development of the park near the Patna Junction station. The project site would be spread over 20.71 acres.

The park would be developed in two parts — Part A and Part B. The area of Part A would be 4.04 acres. The Part B would sprawl over 16.31 acres.

An elevated sky tunnel made of glass would connect the two. A subway might also be built to connect the two parks.

BUIDCo has appointed Deloitte ToucheTohmatsu India Private Limited as the transaction advisor to assist in the project development.

The must-watch place of the park would be the 4D or the 5D theatre for sure. Beside 3D effects, it would offer audience sensory effects. Environment enhancers like virtual lighting, showers, air bubbles, fog, fragrance, chair vibration and neck tickling would thrill people for sure. Sources said a pet zoo would come up in the park to complement its greenery. A science centre and a museum are also on the cards to provide interactive learning opportunities to youths.

With so many facilities on offer, several people would hang out in the park the entire day. Taking this into count, provisions have been made for sufficient eateries inside it. The park would have ample parking space also. A surface parking lot and a parking area in basement would accommodate over 500 cars each.
