30-bed ayush hospital in Patna City

A 30-bed multi-disciplinary Ayush hospital that will have experts from alternative fields of medicine, including ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, unani, sidhha and homeopathy, will come up in Patna City.

Patna: A 30-bed multi-disciplinary Ayush hospital that will have experts from alternative fields of medicine, including ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, unani, sidhha and homeopathy, will come up in Patna City.

The Union government has approved Rs 10 crore for the multi-disciplinary hospital. This would be among the first few projects of the newly formed State Ayush Society.

"The hospital would come up on the campus of regional research unit of unani in Patna City. Apart from starting the hospital, a quality control lab especially for testing ayush medicines would be among the initial projects of the society," said state programme officer of ayush, T.A. Lari.

He said the society created on the lines of Ayush Society functioning in 15 states, would not only look after the functioning of ayush-related health facilities but also control ayush colleges and would perform ayush drug quality testing work in the state.

On Friday, principal secretary, health, Sanjay Kumar presided over the first meeting of the State Ayush Society in which he issued instructions to officials to start separate office for the society by June 30. Sanjay also issued instructions for the creation of posts for the society by June 30.

Health minister Mangal Pandey on Friday launched online issuance of drug licence facility. "The National Informatics Centre, Gujarat, has developed the software through which the drug licence would be issued online," he said.
