The state government has constituted separate teams comprising senior officers of the vigilance investigation bureau to keep a tab on the withdrawal of funds from the government treasuries in March — the last month of this fiscal.

A separate team would be deployed in each of the nine divisions in the state. The members of the teams include two superintendents of police (SPs), five deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) and two inspectors.

An additional team has been formed to keep an eye on withdrawal of funds form the treasuries in the state capital to prevent “March loot”.

The vigilance department’s joint secretary, Satish Prasad, issued a letter to all the divisional commissioners last week furnishing the list of the members of the teams constituted by the government to prevent illegal withdrawal from the government treasuries.

The members of the teams would keep a watch on the treasuries concerned between March 11 and March 31.

Sources said the government has set up a separate team for the Patna division in the wake of a huge rush for withdrawal at all the treasuries in the state capital. A three-member team comprising vigilance department’s joint secretary Satish Prasad, Arun Kumar Thakur, Sunil Kumar (both assistant engineers) and DSP Shashi Shanker Kumar have been notified to supervise withdrawals from the treasuries at the Secretariat, Sichai Bhavan, Vikas Bhavan and Vishweshwaraiya Bhavan.

A super inspection team would conduct surprise inspections at the treasuries across the state.
