Books, world affairs, music and more — juniors from eight schools in the city fought it out in an engaging battle of brains at Quaestio 2016, the annual inter-school quiz hosted by Birla High School. Don Bosco, Park Circus, Akshar School, Loreto Bowbazar, Sushila Birla Girls’ School, The Heritage School, South Point School, Mahadevi Birla World Academy, and the host school qualified for the final, which was divided into five rounds. Participants answered questions on various topics, including the Olympics, books, music, current affairs and more. A neck-to-neck fight ended with Mahadevi Birla crowned winners, followed by The Heritage School in second spot and Birla High School in third position. Animikha Dutta Dhar, a Class V student of Mahadevi Birla World Academy, said: “The questions were tough, but fortunately we knew most of the answers. The quiz was a great platform to exercise our little grey cells.” Headmistress Loveleen Saigal said: “All the schools performed really well and it’s great to see the interest among students for quizzing.”
