Students on Day 1 of a two-day science and math fest at Pratt Memorial School on Thursday. The fest provides a platform to students of classes IX to XII to showcase their innovations in science.

Viva 2018 was inaugurated by Debiprosad Duari, director, research and academic, MP Birla Institute of Fundamental Research, and filmmaker Srijit Mukherji. "It is an exhibition with a difference. Apart from science models and seminars, it encourages new ideas," Duari said.

Twelve schools, including La Martiniere for Girls, Loreto House, St James' School, Calcutta Girls' High School and Calcutta Boys' School are participating in the event. The events include math quiz, science extempore and and seminars. Picture by Ankit Datta
