Raiganj, May 23: Three occupants of a truck were killed when it rammed into another one parked along NH34 in Itahar this morning.

Police said all three died on the spot. Two of them were identified as Abdul Kalam, 31, and Razzak Ali, 38, both labourers.

The third person, whom the police presume to be the helper of the truck, remained unidentified. The driver of the truck fled.

Residents of Mirzadighi, where the accident happened, blamed the National Highways Authority of India for widening NH34 from two lanes to four in a haphazard manner and the parking of vehicles on the highway.
