July 17 on the main lawns of Tollygunge Club; 7 pm: The See Saw — a Theatre World presentation, written and directed by Bubbles Sabharwal. July 18 at Academy of Fine Arts; 3.30 pm: Ajantrik presents Bhusandir Maathe. Direction: Sujit Chatterjee. July 18 at Rabindra Sadan; 6 pm: Samakalin Sanskriti’s latest production, Manab Manabir Rupkatha. Direction: Sudipto Sarkar. July 18 at Madhusudan Mancha; 6.30 pm: Rangakarmee presents Kashinama. Direction: Usha Ganguli. July 18 at Academy of Fine Arts; 6.45 pm: Dwandwik presents two short plays, Subha and Debshishu, both directed by Moloy Chowdhury.

Till July 25 at Nirvana China House, 8B Middleton Street; 11 am - 8 pm: Nirvana China House is showcasing original Chinese porcelain from Jingdezhen in south China’s Jiangxi province. Till July 18 at 25 Hindustan Road, 2nd floor, Calcutta 29; 11 am - 7 pm: Kapor Boutique presents an exhibition of cotton & silk sarees, salwar & kamiz, kurtis & tops, and ethnic dopattas.

July 17 at Ramakrishna Vedanta Math, 19A & B Raja Rajkrishna Street; 7 pm: Swami Paramatmananda will speak in Bengali on Manusher Divya-Swarup. July 18 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar; 11 am: Professor P. Lal reads of Krishna’s attempt to reconcile Karna to the Pandavas by inviting him to be Draupadi’s sixth husband, and Karna’s refusal despite the revelation of his identity as Kunti’s premarital first-born, in the 238th weekly session of his complete English transcreation of Vyasa’s Mahabharata.
