July 15 at Academy of Fine Arts; 6.30pm: Nat-Rang presents Aami Weds Aami, written, directed and performed by Sohan Bandopadhyay.

PERFORMING ARTS

July 15 at The Conclave; 5.30pm: The Conclave, in association with Weavers Studio Centre for the Arts and Rhythmosaic Dance Company, presents an evening with Bharata Natyam exponent Anita Ratnam. She will showcase her work through neo-classical and contemporary expressions in Bharata Natyam. To be followed by an interactive session between Anita Ratnam and Oindrilla Dutt. July 15 at Birla Academy; 7pm: Santiniketan Puratani is organising a musical soiree, Aabar Esechhe Aashar, under the guidance of Purnima Ghosh and Urmila Ghosh. July 15 at the Sandre Hall, Calcutta School of Music; 7pm: An audio-visual programme featuring the Modern Jazz Quartet will be presented by Ajoy Ray for the Jazz Listener’s Forum. July 16 at G.D. Birla Sabhagar; 6.30pm: Sangeet Ashram presents an Indian classical vocal recital by Pandit Madhup Mudgal, accompanied by Pandit Ananda Gopal Bandopadhya (tabla) and Pandit Jyoti Goho (harmonium).

EXHIBITION

Till July 15 at 5D Hastings Garden, 5 Hastings Park Road; 12noon - 6pm: A collection of Benarasi weaves by Roliana, including silk georgette saris, zari-work saris, hand-dyed saris, zardosi and net-work saris, plus Tanchoi, Koras, Tibetan Tussars and Uparas. Also, a range of brocade work dupattas in silk, organza and georgette fabrics. July 16 at The Oberoi Grand; 11am - 8pm: Nouveaau, an exhibition of fashion, accessories and home buy, partnered by t2.

BOOK LAUNCH

July 15 at Oxford Bookstore, Park Street; 6.30pm: Oxford Bookstore, Calcutta and Bingsha Shatabdi host the launch of Shimantor Kabyo, a collection of Bengali poems about the lives of soldiers, written by M.L. Batham.
